Our own dust-free factory,
100-strong hand-cleaning team
From raw nest to finished product in seven days. 100% cleaned by hand, with no glue coating, no bleaching and no additives. Processing follows GMP, HACCP and ISO 22000 throughout, and every batch is traceable. Agents and buyers are welcome to visit the factory.
From sourcing to finished product, all in our own hands
Xing Chen runs its own bird's nest processing factory, so every step from raw-nest sourcing to finished product stays in our own hands: nothing outsourced, no glue coating, no bleaching, no additives. Every nest is cleaned by hand by skilled workers trained in our own factory, using 100% reverse-osmosis (RO) purified water. Processing follows the international food-safety systems GMP, HACCP and ISO 22000 throughout, and every batch is traceable. The site has 8 separate workshops (brushing and grinding, water purification, cleaning, shaping, air drying, disinfection, inspection and packing), which prevents cross-contamination at the source.
RO-purified water throughout, not tap water
All the water used for soaking, washing and hand cleaning comes from the purification system we built on site.
We purify our own water first
Bird's nest is soaked and washed before hand cleaning, so the water comes into direct contact with the nest strands. Tap water contains residual chlorine and hardness, which makes it less than ideal for soaking and washing bird's nest. Xing Chen has built its own reverse-osmosis (RO) water purification system on site: raw water first passes through pre-filter tanks and a salt-tank softener, then a high-pressure pump pushes it through the RO membranes. Only the purified water that comes out is sent to the workshops.
Our own staff regularly open up, inspect, clean and replace the membrane housings and filter cartridges. Of the 8 separate workshops on site, one is dedicated to water purification.

Nine steps, seven days: raw nest to finished product
Each step has its own workshop and its own dedicated staff, and every piece is checked. Below is the full route that visitors walk through and see for themselves at the factory.
01Full hygiene gear
Before entering the processing rooms, staff and visitors alike must put on full hygiene gear: head cover, hygiene clothing, face mask, gloves and hygiene footwear, in line with international food-hygiene standards.
02Raw nest sorting
Each batch of raw nests is sorted into light-, medium- and heavy-feather lots. This decides the cleaning method and the grade of bird's nest the lot can be processed into.
03Removing debris & large feathers
Visible debris and large feathers around the nest are removed first, ready for the fine feathers to be picked out by hand.
04Hand cleaning
Raw nests are allocated by cleanliness, then cleaned entirely by hand using the dry, semi-dry, wet or semi-wet method, with reverse-osmosis (RO) purified water throughout.
05Strict inspection
Once cleaned, every piece is checked for cleanliness by a supervisor. Any piece that falls short goes back to be cleaned again; only those that pass move on to shaping.
06Shaping & moulding
Nests are shaped and moulded according to strand pattern and size, into whole nests, dense nests, loose nests or strips.
07Constant-temperature air drying
Nests are air-dried for about one night in a drying room held at a constant low temperature and humidity, ensuring full weight and no shrinkage.
08High-temperature sterilising
After air drying, every piece goes through high-temperature sterilising (70°C for 3 seconds), which meets the processing standard for Malaysian bird's nest exported to China.
09Sorting & packing
Nests are sorted and packed by type: dry-cleaned whole nests, original dense nests, loose nests, strips, fragments and more. The whole process takes about 7 days. Natural, clean and traceable.
Processing follows the international food-safety systems GMP, HACCP and ISO 22000 throughout, and every batch is traceable. The factory holds Malaysian government licences and international certifications.
