Since 2014, China has applied registration and traceability management to imported bird's nest. Only bird's nest that comes from a registered plant recognised by China's General Administration of Customs (GACC) and carries a CAIQ traceability code can be sold legally through formal channels in China. CAIQ is the bird's nest traceability system associated with the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine.
The CAIQ bird's nest traceability platform is the China Bird's Nest Traceability Management Service Platform. Official CAIQ documents explicitly list this platform as the one used for traceability management of bird's nest products.
The smallest sales package, the labels and the traceability information need to be arranged in line with the applicable traceability and import requirements. The relevant CAIQ rules require the traceability label to be affixed to the smallest sales package of the bird's nest product.
Traceability orders for export to China start from 3 kg. Product specifications, packaging and branding requirements can be confirmed in more detail according to the order.
We do not recommend it. For bird's nest intended for export to China, arrangements should begin at the raw-material, production-batch, processing, packaging and traceability-record stages, so that you do not find out only after the goods are finished that the records fail to meet the requirements.
